Why can’t someone in the media just say it….
The reason for the stock market woes is “Confidence by Banks Lending to Other Banks”
And the politicians probably need to keep their mouth shut for a while (if that is possible in an election year or any time of year).
Wall street has a lot to digest and if they think a politician is going to make a change in what the market now holds, they sit it out to see what the effect might be. That means less buying. Less buying means values will drop.
So call’m up and tell them to SHUT-UP for a while. Wall street would like to deal with what is at hand, not what might be at hand. You only intervene when they are at an impasse.
The government only needs to do what was done during the great depression. Go around and certify (and guarantee) a bank is solvent, one by one. Let the weak fall, put the criminal in jail. After all, this is the capitalism they boast about.
Problem is, some of these criminals are on Capitol Hill!
This is still a matter of the books being cooked that started back in the 90’s and the politicians have done more to insure this was more possible than anyone is telling you. I do want to see some heads hang on this, I mean real time in real jail and not just some discussion in front of a congressional committee where a Politician gets a headline for lashing out.

The US Economy Is Busted!
In a last ditch effort to make sure the money that has been swindled from the taxpayers once stays swindled, the late move of the Bush Bail-Out on the failed, now gives the rapers a new bonus for the good work they have done.
Now they are in charge of of straightening out this mess as they know where all the bodies are buried.
Not only are they the few that still have a paying job, and good ones, they get a second chance at doubling-up on the money from the taxpayer that I can only guess, will have to be borrowed from China and India just like the economic stimulus package that brought you a check in the mail.

Believe it or not, this is more historic than landing on the moon folks!
This sure is not a funny deal when the experts have been warning of this for over 4 years and it had to go to the end before action is taken.
So where are all those Congressional Oversight Comities? The Federal Regulators?
Who is it that said “we need to get the government out of our lives”?
Surely they meant our personal lives and not the over site of non-personal corporations who are chartered to act in public good to maintain their charter. Can anyone see a need to make big corporations even bigger through merger and acquisition? Will anyone go to jail?
Merger and acquisition are suddenly National Security Issues.
I am not looking forward to my real property values dropping 50%, I would like to just put my head in the sand like the government has done in the last 5 years.
